Juliette Jones Named COO at Alamo Records – Billboard

Juliette Jones has been appointed chief operating officer at Alamo Records. Based in New York, she will report to Alamo founder/CEO Todd Moscowitz.

Working alongside Moscowitz, Jones will oversee business development, marketing and promotion at the multi-genre label in addition to supervising day-to-day operations. Founded in 2016, Alamo’s roster includes hitmakers such as Lil Durk, Rod Wave, Blackbear and Trevor Daniel.. Last June, Sony Music Entertainment acquired a majority stake in Alamo.

“Juliette’s deep understanding of the music industry and commitment to redefining the music space for artists and their fans will further support Alamo’s growth and evolution,” Moscowitz said in making the announcement. “We’re thrilled to welcome her to the Company.”

Jones’s newly created post marks a reunion between her and Moscowitz. The two worked together at Warner Bros. Records 10 years ago when he was the label’s CEO and Jones headed urban radio promotion.

“I’m so excited to be working with Todd again,” Jones stated. He is an incredible music man and executive with a proven track record of building businesses. I consider it a wonderful opportunity and privilege to join such a dynamic team at this time in the label’s development. Alamo has already achieved such tremendous success with Lil Durk, Rod Wave, Blackbear and other talented artists on the roster. I look forward to building upon that strong foundation.”

A highly respected industry executive who broke barriers in the promotion arena as a woman — and one of color — working in the upper tier at major labels, Jones most recently served as executive vp of urban promotion at Atlantic Records. Before exiting the label in 2021, she was the driving force behind radio hits from Cardi B, Bruno Mars, Gucci Mane, Jill Scott, Wale, Meek Mill and others. She began her music career at WBLS in New York City.

Prior to joining Atlantic in 2012 as senior vp urban promotion, she worked at aforementioned label Warner Bros. Her resume also includes posts at RCA, Priority, Solar, Virgin and Jive, where she was hired as the label’s first mid-Atlantic regional promotion director for urban music in 1994. Jones has also been an honoree on Billboard’s Women in Music power list and Variety’s Hitmakers list and received the 2019 creative award from the National Sawdust Organization alongside David Byrne and Black Thought.
